2022-2025

In the spring of 2022, we began doing "selective weeding" along the fence on the south end of our property to create additional shade and privacy and procide additional habitat. We let the Russian sage grow, and pulled up the silver nightshade and goat heads. Globe mallow are also culled once they dry out. This photo was take in May, 2022

That fall of 2022, we planted several ash trees that had to be relocated from another property.

September, 2023. The Siberian elms were already quite tall. We promised to remove them once the new trees were established.

September, 2024. With more gifted trees and butterfly bushes.

October, 2025. All but two of the trees survived, and the butterfly bushes are going gangbusters, so we took out the Siberian elms. We are well on our way to an attractive natural border that will provide additional shade while still maintaining a defensible space!
