You can't drive past Abiquiu without stopping at Ghost Ranch!

We hoped we'd finally get a chance to hike to Kitchen Mesa, but the trail was crazy steep, rough and slick after the previous night's big storm.

We turned back just short of the mesa top.

Despite the leaden skies, there were stunning views of Arroyo del Yeso.

And we picked up some great swag at the gift shop, including my new Ghost Ranch shirt!

It's good we turned back when we did, a storm was brewing.

We surprised a young buck by the stream.
