We clawed our way up to 11,000', to the very isolated trailhead for Red Lake. It was our highest camping ever.

Based on glowing reviews, we expected this hike to be the highlight of our trip. But cattle from XX Ranch have turned the trail into ribbons of oozing mud glued together by cow poop.

We were never out of earshot of the anguished bellowing.

Yes, I have photos of ear tags and brands and will post them where I hope it will do some good.
