Endeavor Final Flight Tucson Flyover
September 20, 2012
What a thrill it was have a ring-side seat for the final flight of the space shuttle Endeavor! On its journey from Tucson to a museum in California, the shuttle made a very low pass (1500') over downtown Tucson. My colleagues and I had a bird's eye view from the roof of our nine-story building. Meanwhile Dennis got some incredible photos from the 5th floor of the Chemistry Building.
The flyover was requested by former astronaut Mark Kelly in honor of his wife, former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Kelly was the last person to fly the shuttle.
